Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Guardian Holdings Limited, headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago. Guardian Life is a public company incorporated on December 30, 1980 and registered under the provisions of the Insurance Act, 1980. The Company is engaged in the underwriting of all classes of long-term insurance business as defined in the Insurance Act, 1980 as well as associated investment activities.

Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited, the flagship company of the Guardian Holdings Group has a proud tradition of continuous service dating back to 1847 when Standard Life of Edinburgh, Scotland, started doing business in the West Indies. Guardian Life of the Caribbean is today engaged in the underwriting of all classes of long-term (individual and group) life, health and pensions insurance business as well as associated investment activities.

With investments judiciously spread among local, regional and foreign securities, its surplus position in relation to liabilities is among the strongest in the industry at 34%. A.M. Best - the most prestigious rating agency of insurance companies worldwide - has consistently given Guardian Life of the Caribbean an 'A' Excellent rating since 2001.
