Ravi Tewari, Guardian Life of the Caribbean
President
An Open National Scholarship winner - 1st in the Science Group, Mr. Tewari obtained a Bachelor of Science - Actuarial Science from City University, London in 1992. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and is a member of the Institute of Actuaries. On returning from England in 1992, he worked for an international actuarial consultancy firm before joining Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited.
Anand Pascal
Vice President, Finance
Anand Pascal, FCCA, CA, is now the youngest GLOC Executive. He has considerable experience in the audit and accounting arenas at such organisations as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coca Cola (Trinidad & Tobago) Limited. Formerly GLOC's Chief Accountant, Anand is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago.
Deryck Murray
Vice President, Employee Benefits
Deryck Murray's career experience range from Diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations, New York, to senior managerial positions in the United Kingdom in the fields of financial planning, sales and affinity marketing. He has a B.A. (Hons.) in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, England and also read Economics and History at Cambridge University (Jesus College) where he was awarded a cricket Blue. He represented the West Indies cricket team from 1963 to 1980 and has won international acclaim as one of the West Indies best wicket keepers.
Sandra Kumar-Campbell
Vice President, Insurance Operations
This former National Scholarship winner completed her tertiary education at City University in London where she acquired her B.Sc. in Actuarial Science. Mrs. Kumar-Campbell also has an FLMI from the Life Office Management Association. Sandra was a manager in Guardian Life's Actuarial Department for the 8 years.
Michael Austin
Vice President, Sales
A Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), he has 20 years experience in the insurance and financial services industry. Prior to moving from direct sales into the administrative arena, he had copped such company sales awards as Rookie of the Year, Sales Person of the Year as well as Agency of the Year while being an Agency Manager. Mr. Austin's most recent position has been that of Superintendent of Agencies for the local arm of an international insurance company. He is also a Director and past President of the Rotary Club of Diego Martin.
Rhea Tewari
Vice President, International Health Operations
Rhea Tewari is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the U.K. (Chartered Insurer). Rhea completed the FLMI as well as the Management and Insurance Training at the Swiss Insurance Training Center in Zurich, Switzerland. She has over 25 years experience in the Insurance Industry with vast expertise in Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Claims and Re-insurance with a background in Property and Casualty, Marine, Life and Accident and Health insurance. She also has an extensive working knowledge of insurance operations in the Caribbean.
Mark Webster
Vice President, Employee Benefits
This former national athlete earned an athletic scholarship from Florida Atlantic University to pursue a degree in general management. In 1995, he was asked to set up a group insurance department in Trinidad for another major regional insurance company with principal responsibility for marketing and administration of group insurance services as well as strategic planning. In his consulting practice, Mark designed, implemented, and supervised the operation of effective management and performance monitoring systems for employee benefit programmes which transformed traditional practices and delivered operational efficiencies for all stakeholders.

Glorie Babooram
Assistant Vice President, Alternative Distribution
Glorie Babooram started her career in Broking in the area of General Insurance after which she entered the field of Marketing. She has two Bachelor degrees from York University in Toronto in Business Administration and Economics. She also obtained her MBA from Andrews University and was awarded the Scotibank MBA Leadership Award in her graduating class. Glorie is a member of the A.C.I.I. and has been a member of the Guardian Life family since 1994.
Aftab Ali
Assistant Vice President, Actuarial
Aftab Ali is the newest member of the Guardian Life Executive Team. Combining 20 years of experience in the areas of life insurance, pension consultant and social security, Aftab has acquired experience in pricing and product development, valuations, risk management, forecasting, budgeting, IT, reinsurance, acquisitions and social security actuarial practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from Lakehead University (Canada) and a Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Manitoba (Canada). In December 2007, he was elected to serve as a Member of the Executive Council of the Caribbean Actuarial Association. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
